about

Originally released in 1977 as MNLP00017 on Manhattan Records label.

Remigio Ducros, is a pianist and composer, husband of Daniela Casa; they wrote the two first volumes of “America Giovane” among others.
"Naja" is an entirely Italian 'slang' term, synonymous with the expression 'military service', a period in which young boys were trained to become soldiers. While one would therefore expect gloomy war-like atmospheres from this LP, “Tempo di Naja” sounds bright and sometimes cheerful, as in “Marcia longa” or “Fanfara in festa”; the music is in fact inspired by typical situations of the military service, still very distant from the real war context: “Discoteca”, “Libera uscita”, “Montagna”, “Pedalata”, “Femmine” are just a few examples. But above all “Sgambata” stands out as a killer jazz-funk tune with a deadly groove that would perfectly fit in an early ’70s crime movie!
